I believe that spektrum transmitters sold in the EU no longer support DSM2 so might not be compatible with this receiver. Note this seems to be DSM2 only and probably doesn't support DSMX. I'm using it on my DW rainbow wing, and haven't had any issues with loss of signal, even though it is pushed inside the motor mount with just the antennas sticking up behind the battery. It's a bargain at the price and shipping was quick.

I have several hours on my Rx and I like it very much. Black or brown lowest, red middle, and white or yellow topmost. Here is a photo of how the sticker is oriented as well as the color coding on the servo wires. I haven't tried to program the failsafe yet, right now it just holds the last good signal it received, which is fine for my motorgliders. Binds quickly on power up as well as when transmitter is interrupted, about two seconds. Range is exceptional with this combination, easily achieving the 400 meters listed in the product description with no dropouts of the controls. I'm using this Rx with a Futaba 8 Channel Tx converted with an older genuine Spektrum module which is DSM2 only. Also, the lighter servo wire will always go up on the side of the capacitor. Just remember for your sticker with the antennae facing to your left, and the large capacitor facing towards you, the battery/throttle goes on the bottom. That being said I have 4 of these now and will continue to buy them because the other 3 work flawlessly and the only one that doesn't could have been partly my fault. Maybe even a small plastic box to protect them or something I don't know. If they release a "v2" some more robust antennae wires somehow would be the only thing id change. Just be careful of the antennae wires, I broke one of mine off and just soldered a new piece of wire assuming it would be fine but that receiver now will restart unexpectedly, meaning I lose control mid flight for like a good 2-3 seconds, lost two planes before I realized what was happening, luckily only flite test dtfb planes but still. The BATT pins are only needed for binding if any of your 6CHs carries power, probably beneficial to use it for PDB powering if possible. Set it up as AETR1234 on both my FC and TX and it works in that order too, just ingnore the sticker in though, LOL. If you don't need all that computer "Stuff", this is a good deal.Bought 3 of these and all work well, all tested on my servo motor test rig (see pics), and one installed in my 6CH Racer 180, and all functions passed. Because of the antenna, this one I had to punch a hole in a bag for it to fit. They get protection from the dust and dirt, and you can turn them on and off for short periods without taking them out of the bag when you want to adjust something or just make sure something works.

Give you a secret, I keep my "Cheapo" radios in large zip lock plastic bags. I would like Spektrum to offer a soft case for it though. Since it is inexpensive, I don't mind handing it to the "Let me have a try" crowd that always seems to gather at the field. I use it as much already as my DX9 Black Edition. The receiver's small size makes it ideal for micro drones and small models, while its extra long antennas allow you to route them outside of your model for extended range and a robust link to your transmitter. Of course, it still has the basic features if you need them, but basically this is a get it, put in the batteries and it works radio. Downloads: The OrangeRx R617XL is a super small DSMX/DSM2 compatible receiver with a 6 channel CPPM output and diversity antennas. Compatible with all DSM2/DSMX 2.4GHz Air transmitters and now featuring CPPM The OrangeRx R615X takes things to the next level by offering CPPM, true DSMX compatibility, and utilizes dual antennae providing true signal reception diversity Add to this programmable failsafe on binding, ultra-fast brown-out recovery, and wide voltage input range. I have no real need for any of the modern "Fiddly things" that these radio's feature and the last thing I want to do is have to sit down and read a manual. I learned to fly long ago before computer radios, before even dual rates and servo reversing. It is a no frills radio indeed, but the sticks are nice, the case is nice thick stable feeling plastic and most of all - "It works!".

It is hard to believe that you can get a radio this nice for such a small sum of money.
